The 1st Roll with my Mamiya 645 Pro

Josh (pictured above) has brought me into the wonderful world of medium format analog photography by gifting me a Mamiya 645 Pro for Christmas. It’s as compact and lightweight as medium format cameras get, so I’ll be able to bring it along on trips and photograph medium format portraits along the way.

This first roll was shot on Ilford HP5 Plus to get a feel for how the camera performs with black and white images. I took a few photos at home and then we set out for the local hill to do some ski touring and take some photographs along the way. Below are the images from my first roll— the ones of me were taken by Josh (https://joshualoew.com/). I’m thrilled with how they turned out and am looking forward to sharing more rolls taken on this bad boy in the future!
